Before you read this article, excuse me for using lots of "I" as this article is all about what "I" think about Antangle.com should go next.

I have posted a same article before, but recently, I had some time to think more about where I want to take Antangle.com to. I still want to keep this site as clean and simple as possible. And I want to make Antangle.com the biggest dating site in the world.

Well, as simple as it sounds, how do we do that? And how do we do that better than competitors, knowing that competitors also wants to be the biggest dating community.

I think Antangle.com needs to revolutionize the way how people use dating site. Like many of recent hit Internet services like Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, Linkedin, it has to be easy to enter - connect - stay connect. With these services, rapid stream of information just run through your devices, PC, Mobile, iPhone etc. It seems just run through you, yet organized to keep network of friends together.

Paul and I will start to work on re-designing Antangle.com to make this service better for all member who are looking to meet new friends on Internet, so we can be the place to meet new friends online!

Are you a fitness nut? Do you love food and wine? How about bungy jumping? Whatever your pleasure there is either an on-line or off-line site that suits your needs. And it's Ok to try. Just put what your interest into the search engine, include your city to narrow your search and voilà, up comes a plethora of options.

I don't want to go alone?

It is better to go alone, less competition. If your friend comes with you and you meet someone and this person you have just met likes your friend more, you will not be very happy. Increase your odds, go alone. You don't believe this will happen? It happens.

Antangle.com will focus on International friendships. The value of Internet is overwhelming but this is powerful way to leverage Internet to shorten the distance of the world. International friendship means we will need to work on multiple languages. We will work on Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French version of Antangle.com.

Antangle.com will work on visibility of users. We encourage more users to upload photos, to help visualize users.

Antangle.com will provide more real time communication. We are working to install a chat plug-in to the service.

You may have received message saying "this message has been deleted by the spamming filter". This means, the user has sent spam like messages to many members.

However please make sure you get to know the other person well first.

How to finish your messages well.

You got a proper introduction, you checked your grammar, you checked your spelling, but that may not be enough to get you reply from your new friends. You may need to finish your message strong and smooth.

I recommend that you finish your messages with interesting questions which trigger next conversations. With such messages, your new friends will feel much more comfortable writing you back. If your message end with a statement or too general question, your new friends will have a trouble writing you back. (he/she will not know what to write back to you, and it's boring.) And what's more, it's better if you can make your questions as specific as possible. Instead of "what do you think about coffee", say "do you like espresso more than regular blend coffee?"

After all, it's all about balance. Ask questions but don't ask too much questions. Write about you, but don't write too much about you. Keep it short, but don't make it too short. Write friendly, but don't be too friendly.

Yes, you can get reply from your new friends by just writing a simple and magic word "hi". In Antangle.com we have no smile, blink, interest, poke or other similar functionality. But you can do similar by just saying "hi" in your first message. And you can get a good reply IF.

Yes IF, and here is the catch.

You have to have a good profile. You need to fill all fields. You need to say something interesting in your introduction field.

Specially if you are sending messages using credits, then you definitely want to have a good profile. Where are you from? What do you do? Can I see your photos? All these questions can be avoided by having a complete profile.

Here are some tips to increase your chance to get reply.

First and the most important. Post your photo. If you do not have photo, your chance of getting reply is almost 0. Post your smiley photo, everyone likes happy charming person.
Do not write long message. Your new friend is not yet interested in you. They don't want to spend long time to read your message (yet). Keep it short, tell them why you were interested in them, and how that is related to you.

It's great to see growing community and active members in Antangle.com. Now we are having high numbers of communication happening, I want to leave a few pointers to make better impressions (higher response rate).

Always, number 1: Post your photo before you send message.

Number 2: Refer to some of good messages you have received. You have gotten some good message from other users? What worked for you probably work for many others.

Number 3: Complete your profile, please fill your profile as much, you may end up wasting your time (or credits) telling same story to many friends.

Number 4: Keep it short, and tell them why you are writing them.

Number 5: "Call me at", "Send me Email at", "Let's chat at MSN/Skype/AOL/Yahoo" on your first message never work. You will eventually move to next phase of communication (chat, phone, meet at cafe shop etc), but first you need to engage in appropriate communication and get to know each other. Often people do not want to give out their personal email/chat address until they know you are potentially a good match.

Number 6: Do not copy paste message and send out to many. You can't keep #4 with copy paste message.

Because you can see entire message in a list, it is difficult when to mark messages are read or not. We have changed designs of the mail box page; you can check read or click on reply button to mark the message as read.

Improvements are coming up

It was only a month ago that Antangle.com has been released, and the baby Antangle.com have lots of "to improve" list (or fix...).

Today we have adjusted how footmark works on Antangle.com. There has been complains from users that 1 users takes up most of her footmark space. It's true. I checked my footmark and here is Alex taking up my footmark space.

We have made a change, there can only be 1 footmark in every 15 minutes. This way if you are in and out of same profile many times you can only leave 1 footmark and leave other spot for other users.

Yes, we love complains, and love to make improvement from them.

We have started our ad campaign in Los Angeles area today. And I thought I better know more about LA.

From my town, Montreal it is 4,591km 42 hours of drive. Well I better fly out.

The city population is 3,833,995*, the largest city in the state of California and 2nd largest cities in the United States, pretty much everyone knows LA.

I knew where LA was, and I knew it was a big city. But there are many new findings about Los Angeles today.

Los Angeles was found on September 4th, 1781 by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve, and was part of Mexico in 1821 along with independence of Mexico from Spain. Then there was Mexican-American War (1846-1848), The war ended with Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which included purchased of Los Angeles area by the United States, then Los Angles incorporated April 4th 1850.

Many of us know LA as a home of Hollywood. Our lives and trend today has big influence by entertainment made here.

Tips to write a good messages

Today, one of our customers asked me; hey I have written many messages to several users but I never get reply. Here I am, I am a profile specialist at Antangle.com. Betsy and I are here to help someone like him to polish up his profile and messages, so that he can make many friends here.

First I have asked him if he would like to take a look at his profile and messages to give some suggestion for improvement. He agree to let us look at his profile and sent some messages that he has sent to other members in antangle.com. (And also he has agree to let us write about it.)

His profile was OK, 1 nice photo, short greeting to other members, said "Hello". At Antangle.com you only have two fields to express yourself differently from others. We have intentionally made it short, we think it's tired to read all lines (and writing for sure). We value "initiation" at Antangle.com, users can exchange about their lives and thoughts once conversation is initiated on email, chat or coffee shops etc. My point is, it's short and there is no room to waste for "Hello", it needs to have a greater punch line. Sort of like pick up line in our real lives.

It goes same for his first messages. First message is important, because that is your first impression. He is a great guy, but without knowing much of him the other users get impression about him on first messages. This got to be short and sweet. Read their profiles and talk about something that relates to what they on profile, but please keep it short.

And don't forget to upload your smile photo, smile kills!

Hello I am Betsy, a profile service at antangle.com. My job is to manage profiles in antangle.com, mainly helping to improve profile quality so that you can find new friends here better.

Well, Alex is giving me a almost impossible task of simple profile page that inspire other members to be friend with that person. I believe John, the other profile specialist, and Paul can work out some great interface and looks of profile that make anyone's profile simple and interesting.

Hello I am Paul, a chief tech guy at antangle.com. Antangle.com has been written by the Microsoft ASP.Net with Microsoft SQL to offer the fastest and simplest service to meet new friends.

Hello All!

Today we have finally released our new service antangle.com. Antangle.com is a friend finding service, to meet friends locally or/and globally. Antangle.com offers service to initiate friendship with other users. Oh, I wish I can write more about it, but this service is too simple for a long explanation; you search and browse profile and send them messages to start your new friendship.

Product development to make something simple that work, that's very difficult but we are trying.

It was short and intense product development, but our tech team Paul and Mark has done a great job putting this service together.
